Corryvreckan ist ein Meeresstrudel nördlich von Jura - und hat mit Islay eigentlich gar nichts zu tun. Er gilt laut der Royal Navy als "unnavigable". Corryvreckan war das Ardbeg Committee bottling von 2008, damals limitiert auf gerade mal 5000 Flaschen. Ähnlich wie der Blasda ist auch dieser Corryvreckan ohne jede Altersangabe und wirkt sehr jung. Er ist nicht kühl-gefiltert.

Nase: Rauch, danach kommen Teer und dunkle Schokolade; später auch noch brown sugar und rote Stachelbeeren.

Geschmack: Wow, eine Flut von Pfeffer, Seetang Rauch und Espresso. Etwas später auch noch Waldfrüchte und Kumquat. Würzig ohne Ende.

Finish: sehr lang mit dem typischen Ardbeg-Zweiklang von Pfeffer und Rauch

Nase: briny, seaweedy with an assertive creosote profile. Hint of bog myrtle

Geschmack: a muscular lad, releasing citrus fruit notes on time. Rich fizzy feel on the tongue, with waves of sea flavours and a salty feel. Peat in every corner of your mouth.

Finish: Intense and sharp, leaves much louder and more stridently than it came in.
